today

... that today is Captive Pandas Day? In 1999, a giant panda
gave birth to triplets for the first time in captivity. The
three baby pandas were born in Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding
Research Center in the Sichuan  province in China. Trivia
buffs: giant pandas do not hibernate. Instead, they move to
lower elevations to keep warm in winter, while traveling to
higher elevations in the summer to stay cool.
